Details

Enjoy this combination tour of enjoying the remarkable geothermal seawater at the Blue Lagoon Spa and a scenic tour of Iceland’s capital, Reykjavík. Begin with a drive over the lava fields of the Reykjanes Peninsula toward the Blue Lagoon, which owes its existence to a nearby geothermal power plant. The water of the lagoon is 98.6–102.2 F filled with rich minerals and known for its healing properties. Enjoy a peaceful time bathing at the Blue Lagoon in the middle of a lava field in the pure, Icelandic wilderness. Continue your journey back to Reykjavík pier. On your way back, you will pass the Árbær Open Air Museum, where many houses from Reykjavík’s past have been moved and restored. Drive past Höfði House, the site of the 1986 Reagan-Gorbachev summit that ended the Cold War. Next, the tour will stop at another one of Iceland’s famous sites, The Pearl, which is a glass dome above a geothermal water tank consisting of restaurants, souvenir shops, and bar.
